One of our Maine Trailer employees, Annette McKenney, had the pleasure of visiting Arlington National Cemetery on Saturday during the Wreaths Across America event.
Wreaths Across America came from an idea sparked by Morrill Worcester and his wife Karen of Worcester Wreath Company. Worcester Wreath Company is a long term customer of Maine Trailer. Every year, hundreds of trucking companies volunteer to haul wreaths to hundreds of cemeteries. These companies are referred to as “The Honor Fleet”.
In total, there were 55 trailers full of wreaths, enough for each gravestone to have one. Many of the trucks and trailers on site carrying the wreaths are Maine Trailer customers. “It truly was an experience unlike any other, and I would encourage anyone that has the opportunity to attend to do so” said McKenney. “Thousands of people came out in the pouring rain to lay wreaths, remember and honor the soldiers, and family members that have been laid to rest in Arlington. I had the honor of placing 4 wreaths in the cemetery.”
Below are some pictures Annette took during her visit at Arlington National Cemetery.
