As part of a continued effort to contribute to the surrounding community, Maine Trailer, Inc. is collecting gently used coats for Coats for Kids once again this season. The public may bring coats to Maine Trailer’s 101 Coldbrook Road location in Hampden, which will be taken to collection partners for the statewide clothing drive.
“Maine Trailer and its employees are committed to giving back and enriching our community, and Coats for Kids is simply another way to do that,” states Chief Operating Officer Rod Hathaway.
Pratt Abbott of Portland launched Coats for Kids in 1983 in partnership with the Salvation Army to help Mainers in need of warm winter clothing. The cleaning company and its employees donate time each winter to clean each coat and get them ready for distribution to needy families. Now called Coats and Toys for Kids, the cause has evolved into a holiday tradition.
Collection partners for Coats and Toys for Kids include the Salvation Army, WCSH6 and WLBZ2, Hannaford, Shaw’s, Pepsi, and the Maine Oil Dealers Association.
